Twas the night before finals and all through Entrada,
Not a 1L was stirring, except for the bums in the plaza.

In the library students frantically studied away,
Half the people you’ve never seen before,
At least, not before today.
Students quietly sit minute after minute hour after hour,
And it’s very doubtful that any have showered.

Finals bring out the best,
Finals bring out the worst.
Students packed in the library,
Suddenly focused and submersed.

Some students are excited,
While others are stressed,
Crying and overwhelmed, wondering,
I’m in sunny San Diego, but why am I so depressed?!

Realizing it all comes down to these tests,
Maybe getting bottle service every weekend wasn’t the best?

On Redbull,
On Adderall,
On Coke Zero,
And No Doze.
On coffee,
On Tea,
And even 5 Hour Energy….

They all work, to keep us awake-

i feel like i've been studying for months, this one week is more work than i did in all of undergrad. but the good news is i've made two new friends, my place is finally settled in, and the homies are visiting!!!

My eyes are bloodshot, the contacts are dry,
But you gotta perform more than just enough to get by.

Bring on the books, coffee, paper cuts and tears,
This is what I have been preparing for all of these years.
Bring on the lesson plans, the office hours, I am ready.
This semester is already off to a great start, nice and steady.

Sheer panic from other students makes me giddy with joy,
Something like 60% of us are already on adderrall, you are all falling for the ploy.
Can a contract be oral, what is a legal wrong-doing?
Let’s just get school and the bar behind us so I can start suing.

I am here to study, to succeed and make my dream come true,
And already need a t-shirt that reads “No, I’m Not Here to Date You”.
These three years will fly by, so take it all in.
You can actually enjoy law school, it isn’t a sin.

i cried for you today. i cried thinking about the future you could of had and everything you missed out on. and i know you would be telling me, "God had bigger plans for you, and you're right where your supposed to be," because your faith was strong enough for the both of us, but i just hate to say goodbye to someone so full of life. i always thought we'd have more time.

i just hope i can live my life as gracefully as you did. strong, optomistic, determined, classy, beautiful, loyal, faithful and the list goes on and on. you always made the rest of us look bad, haha but i'm gunna make you proud of me. thank you for teaching me to appreciate this life, my family, my friends, and my opportunities. you pushed me in all the best ways and you better continue to keep me in check. you just got promoted from friend to guardian angel.

i was just congratulating you for graduating from ucla, excited about your new endeavors into law school. i still have the thank you cards you've given me from highschool. our bio group was just laughing about your penske nickname, i really don't remember why i gave you that stupid nickname. i was just looking at your facebook pictures to see what you were up to. i was just thinking to myself, this girl is amazing and beautiful inside & out. and i just found out you've left us.

Too young, too beautiful, too soon. I have so many memories with you and I'm shocked we'll never be able to make more. I know we've drifted apart since highschool but I hope you know what an amazing person you are and how highly I thought of you. you were one of the smartest, most dedicated and fun loving girls i knew, a beautiful balance and a force to reckon with. There's no doubt in my mind that you've touched the hearts of many. You have a beautiful soul and hope you may forever rest in peace. My condolences to your family, please watch over us.

So, for those who've asked me, "How was your trip?", my answers have been short and sweet. Borderline undescribable, exciting & breath-taking. but then again, "A pictures worth a thousand words"...

Here's a few edited favorites to entice you:

The Famous Eiffel Tower, a must see in Paris.

In this small, bustling city, it's quite hard to miss.

Take the elevator up and enjoy the veiw with a cafe chocolat on me ;)

The Louvre Musuem, holding the famous paintings & sculptures such as the

Mona Lisa, Venus De Milo, Winged Victory, and the Ramsees..

I could literally spend DAYS lost in this historical maze.

When strolling down the Thames River, the view leaves much to the imagination,

so be sure to find your way inside.

Napolean's Apartments in the Louvre Museum.

It may not be as ostentatious as the Palace of Versailles,

but it sure can amaze.

Sadly, the intricate details are lost in translation with my simple camera.

A definite Must-See.

The Arc de Triomphe, sitting at the end of the Champs Elysees,

is not only a centerpiece for intellectual conversation starters

but a memorial for lost soldiers of France, lighting flames in rememberance.

The Westminster Abbey, popularly known for the Royal Wedding that took place April29,

it also holds the tombs of Kings, Queens, and famous Poets such as Chaucer, Kipling and my personal favorite, T.S. Elliot. Pictures inside the Westminster Abbey are not allowed, so make sure to keep your flash off ;)

The Buckingham Palace. This is a great shot of the Balcony where HRH Prince William & Kate kissed TWICE on their wedding day. When you visit, be sure to see the changing of the guards, a ceremony that will certainally attract a crowd.

My favorite Museum in London,

partially because admission is FREE- something that should be appreciated

in ever-so expensive London. The architecture at the entrance alone is captivating.

Sitting opposite to the Westminster Abbey, this view encapsulates the heart of London.

Here you see (from left to right) the Aquarium, the London Eye, Big Ben & Houses of Parliament. Behind these structures lie the London & Tower Bridge, going across the Thames River, definitely a ride to remember.

for those of you that have noticed, i've been missing in action. i'm not the party girl everyone used to think of me as, and honestly, i'm perfectly satisfied staying home on a friday night and getting a good nights sleep. between my internship, volunteer work, classes, studying for my lsat, and filling out applications for law school, i've had little time to even take a deep breath.. much less think about how to celebrate my birthday.

people say you know your getting old when you don't want to celebrate but i say, i don't care what people say..so this year, instead of the typical alcohol-fest that defines our 20's, i'd be happy if you just took the time to do something nice for someone else. be it your parents, siblings, friends, stranger, etc. etc. instead celebrating my birthday, lets celebrate EACH OTHER, and give back.

I always hear talk about the world around us, and it was only until recently did i really get to experience it. i love my volunteer work, and the patients i work with. one in particular, adam, i can never forget. my first day, i was told to try and get to know the patients, some suffering from mental illness, disease, and plain old age. This young man in his 30's approached me in a wheelchair, speaking with a stutter, body contorted, and shaking uncontrollably. to be honest, if i were anywhere else, i would not take the time out of my day to even notice him, and if i did, i'd probably steer clear. we worked on a puzzle together, as he is in no condition to do such activities without help, i got to learn a lot about him and his story. sometimes someone else's reality can be a sad one, and it humbled me to know that good people like him exist despite life's troubles. that same day, everyone was taking pictures of the patients to post in the clinic, and this young man, who has lived the majority of his life crippled, PULLED HIMSELF UP, propped up against a table, to stand beside me in a picture.

i would really like to just spend my upcoming birthday enjoying life, as my typical day includes a million and one tasks, i want to take the time to appreciate the greatness of being 23, the year ahead of me, and the people around me. geared towards the future, i see big changes set in motion.

this time last year, i worked 40 hour weeks, and did what i needed to do to get by. my applications and scores were not impressive, but i managed. i'm tired of being mediocre. this year, i've never been more focused. when i first decided that i wanted to be a lawyer, it was because i didn't want to be a doctor. a few days at my internship, i realize, i'm good at what i do, and i love it. not only can i put my rather competitive eager ocd personality to use at the office, i'm actually making a difference instead of pushing paper.

i know it's only been a few months, and it would be a little naive to say "it's different this time," but who cares what you think, this is my blog, and i would love nothing more than prove you wrong.

i'm gunna make these dreams a reality.

as some may know, i declined my offer into Cooley law school. (i say this with a sign of relief)

at first i was incredibly unsure, and scared to pass up this opportunity

but it just never seemed like the right place for me, and mom was right.

i hate it when she's right.

now i'm focused on getting into a law school that fits me, and the future i want.

so i'm currently starting over.

i did it once and i can do it again. just watch...

i feel like i'm always talking about my future and what life has in store for me, but maybe it's time to really appreciate the present and just make the most of what we have. reinventing the person i am right now, or maybe just letting go of a few vices.

After his doctor’s check-up, he slipped on hydro (water) on the street and broke his oligo (small) brachio (arm). When he went back to the doctor’s office, something caught his oculo (eye) in the waiting room. His cardio (heart) skipped a beat and his stomato (mouth) dropped at the sight of his future wife. Two years later Vince and Joanna get married and travel the world syn (together). They spent most of their honeymoon phaging (eating). When they came back to America, they found out that Vince’s tan was actually a lipoma (fatty tumor) on his dermato (skin) while Joanna unfortunately had a megaly (enlargement) in her encephato (brain). Even though they were both fatally ill, it was Joanna’s dream to have a child. Nine months later her lapar (abdomen) and both masts (breast) were swollen but she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Vince forgot his glasses at the hospital, and because of his hyperopia (far sightedness) he swerved offroad, crashed into a tree and killed everyone except for their newborn, luckily named Lucky.

ever heard the saying.. "Don't wait for your life to start, it already did"

lately, can't help but feel like i'm waiting for my next phase of my life to start, and from someone as impatient as me.. it sucks. some days i feel like im waiting in vain, others i feel hopeless, and most days i avoid reality and sit around aimlessly.

my options feel limited as i wait for an acceptance letter, and my heart breaks a little with every rejection letter i get. looking back, i know i could of done a lot more.. i know i shouldn't of spent more than half my college career dancing.. i know i could of applied myself better..etc. what sucks more than rejection and regret... disappointment. first the disappointment i have with myself, but the disappointment i cause. i hate disappointing my mom. i want to do this for me, but more than anything i want to do this for her.

my family, friends, and boyfriend are all a huge support and optimistic but i'm a realist. it's hard when the people you love thinks soo much of you, and you know you can't measure up.

Life has its ups and downs, and for a while i thought i was going through one of those "down" moments. On second thought, maybe not. So whenever you're feeling down, look for the good in your life. Make sure to appreciate what you have before you lose it. I know I'm so lucky to be blessed with amazing opportunites, friends, and family.
